Now that you know for certain what it is that you want, how do you get it? Is it a matter of just being at the right place at the right time? What if you could create the exact time and place for it to show up? It might not be that simple but you can certainly increase the odds in your favor.
Now that you know what you want you will begin seeing more opportunities that will lead you towards it. Last week’s post, “What do you really want anyway?” helped you get crystal clear on what you want. So now all you need to do is get ready for when these opportunities come knocking.
CREATING SPACE TO RECEIVE
I have a place in my home that I call my personal power place. It is actually a desk set up to do my daily journaling. It has, of course, a writing surface, pens, and blank journals neatly placed on it. I also have candles and totems that I have collected on my journey. I collect rocks from recent hikes and currently have a nest I had to remove from a back porch light. These totems have special meaning to me at this time and place on my journey. So they sit on my desk to provide inspiration.
I come to this place to write and contemplate life because it is one of my favorite places in my house. It is quiet. It sits in front of two windows and overlooks the trees in my backyard. This is where I ponder my existence or scribe notes to my future or past self. Some days all I get done is staring into the flames of the candles with absolutely nothing to say.
The Importance of Positive Environment
Environment is a very powerful thing. You could be in a negative environment and not even realize it. It could be the color of the paint, the smell of the carpet, or poor lighting. It could be the vibe given off from the people in it or the stress you feel because of the clutter or unfinished projects. You absorb and re-vibrate the energy you surround yourself with.
FINDING YOUR POWER PLACE
You may not be able to control every environment you encounter but you can find or create a place you can go to renew your energy. Your surroundings will either vitalize or deplete you. This could be a room in your house, a walking trail nearby, even a seat on your front porch.
Think about places that empower you. A place where you can be your authentic self without pretense. It may be a place you go and find solitude or a place you go where people get you for who you are. Wherever this place is, it must be a place where the real you is free to come alive.
HARMONIZING WITH YOUR SURROUNDINGS
How do you create such a place? The most empowering places are places where you can quietly ponder who you are and what you desire in the world. Where the place and all the living creatures in it radiate good vibes out into the universe and you can feel them return to you.
Lighting and color all have vibrations that are unique and either harmonize with your energy or are in discordance with it. You have to find spaces that you are in harmony with and that are in harmony themselves. Order is important so that it does not disturb or block your connection to the positive things you want to attract.
Outside Connections
One of the easiest ways to find connection to a place is to get outside in nature. In nature there is order, there is light, and all frequencies exist without hindrance. You don’t have to venture out alone but make sure the people or creatures you travel with bring a positive energy with them as to not spoil your chance for renewal.
Stimulating Your Senses
Nature counteracts mental fatigue by stimulating all of your senses. When you try to recreate this natural medicine in your home, think about stimulating all your senses in a positive way. Stimulate your sense of sight with good lighting, colors, and images. You can use textures to stimulate touch such as totems from nature; rocks, feathers, or fur. I use a textured table cloth for my journaling desk. I am also picky about the pens I use and how they feel in my hand.
Taste and sound are things you can explore your connections with. A soothing cup of hot chocolate as you write or quiet chimes just outside your window. You can use fragrant candles to stimulate your sense of smell. I like to burn a dried leaf of sage before I write. I can understand why Native Americans used it to purify the air. When I walk into the room hours later, I can still sense the calming pure air that it creates.
Olfactory is a very powerful sense that we have been gifted with. Smell has a direct link to the primal part of our brain. Take advantage of that with aromatherapy. Test and see what works for you. You might try peppermint oil to energize you if you are feeling in a slump. A bouquet of fresh flowers is said to increase your state of happiness. Make sure you take a few minutes to stop and smell them.
GET ENERGIZED TO RECEIVE
Environments are powerful. They either energize us or deplete our energy. So before you embark on your journey to go after what you really desire in life. Take a little time and ponder your surroundings. How can you boost the positive energy in the place you live and the places you hang out? How can you create empowering places or create opportunities in your life to visit empowering places regularly?
Take time this week to find a power place you can visit every day. Maybe it’s a chair on your front porch or a desk by your bedroom window. Maybe it’s a trail down the street. Wherever it is commit to visiting your power place daily to jump start your day or renew the energy you lost throughout the day.
By finding and creating spaces that reset your positive energy, you will be in harmony with and attracting the right energies to you. When opportunities to pursue the things you really want show up, you will be able to recognize them and will be prepared to receive them.
