Thank you, Thank you, Thank You
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged and supported me on this journey, A special shout out to my beta readers and my editor, Shelby Hild, who have taught me so much about writing and story telling that I can’t keep track of everything I learned. To Chris and Gena Maselli and Rene Gutteridge and all my fellow writers at Writing Momentum who have endured my writing trauma drama every week for the last year!
What took so long?
It’s been eleven years in the making. I started the first book in 2012 when I was in Japan visiting my son, daughter-in-law, and my two baby granddaughters. I was reading The 90 Day Novel by Alan Watt. I stalled out in the middle of that one and started over on a new one a few years later, plugging away at it slowly until I got decided to get serious. I joined the Springfield Writers Guild at the end of 2019 and after a few months, Covid hit. In March of 2020, it shut down and I was on my own for awhile. But I was with them long enough for them to convince me I was a writer so I plugged away at my first draft some more. In September of 2021 I handed my first draft off to some very brave beta readers. I spent the next year rewriting their feedback and a few more drafts. In Spring of 2023, it went to the editor and the rest is history. HERE IT IS and those grand-babies are old enough to read for themselves!
